The concept of The Wild Hunt underwent several alterations: from pagan beginnings celebrating various deities to christian adaptations. Currently, The Wild Hunt is being re-imagined by modern day magic practitioners, Neo-pagans, fantasy authors and scholars of esoteric disciplines.

The difference between Solar and Lunar Calendars is approximately 11 days, and those 11 days give us a peculiar period at the end of the year that belongs neither to the old, neither to the new year. A time unaccounted, easily claimed by the ‘other’ world, time where the material and countable can touch the spiritual, unseen and unexplained.

In my understanding, The Wild Hunt represents outburst of raw, untamed primordial energies during the period of weakened guards, when control turns into oppression, restriction. Untamed chaos, unexplored subconsciousness, unresolved shadows and fears – to each their own – burst out with force of a hydrogen bomb, the more restrictions, denials and illusions the harder the impact. Demolition of towers that became a voluntary prison to ones potential. There is no moral value to chaos – it is neither good, nor bad. It is a natural phenomenon and like all other phenomena can bring destruction or power – it all depends on one’s ability to control without oppressing.
